Before I found Willow House, I was a former Theatre Director/Youth Services Librarian/Bartender turned stay at home mom who wanted to decorate our newly purchased third home. A friend brought me to my first party, because she knew I loved to decorate and on a cold January night after being stuck "at home" for so long, I wanted to get out and socialize. That led to 2 more years of hosting parties to acquire a product I grew to love for free and at a discount. Three times, I considered the possiblility of becoming a consultant, but was a afraid of being that "pushy" direct sales person we all turn the other way from. Finally on 8/28/08 I decided to join because there was a great offer for hosts to sign up. I approached my husband to ask for his "blessing," told him I just wanted to try it out, that I wouldn't get all "gung ho" but I thought I might be good at it, and could bring in a little extra money. Seriously. That's what I said. Well, that was an understatement!
After 31/2 years, I have earned 10 trips with Willow House. 4 of them free vacations that I've been able to bring my family with. The first to Cancun, Mexico with my husband for our 10 year anniversary. The second, last year to the Atlantis in the Bahamas where my daughter lived her DREAM to swim with the dolphins. This past summer, my whole family went on a Caribbean cruise and visited several beautiful islands we wouldn't have dreamed of ever seeing. And this summer, I was humbled to find out that I was the 5th top point earner and get to treat my husband to an all-inclusive FREE vacation with lots of extra perks at Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Paradisus All Inclusive Resort - Just Opened November 2011. Before Willow House, we didn't take elaborate vacations, but I am so proud and grateful to have earned these trips for my family.
Since promoting to Director, I've recently been given the honor to train other consultants at our National Convention, earned #1 in Sponsoring and #4 in Sales for our Midwest Region; and I've also had the privilege to lead over 50 men and women in my personal group and develop relationships with hosts and customers, many of whom I can proudly say feel more now like my friends and family. Not to mention our family of wonderful, inspiring consultants all over the country. I truly feel that I have the best of both worlds now with Willow House. A career that I love and is flexible enough to still be home for my kids when they get off the bus, or have a sick day, I don't need to worry about calling in to work, because I don't have to answer to anyone else but myself!
One of my favorite quotes I heard is "If it's important to you, you'lll find a way. If its not, you'll find excuses." I think this applies to a lot of things in life, and for my business, I have found a way. After just 3 years, I've replaced the income I was making before working both FT and PT combined. This is a creative outlet for me, and FUN! I love what I do, and what's so great is that I can do it when inspiration hits me. Direct Sales isn't easy, noone ever said it would be. I do work at it, but when you love what you do, it doesn't feel like work, does it? Its not for everyone, and that's okay. I just wanted to share my story, because if YOU'VE been thinking about direct sales, I'm just asking you to consider our opportunity. Take a look. Ask a question.
